Conversations is a language-learning program that helps language learners prepare to engage in one-on-one interactions.
Teachers can record prompts for their students to replay to. Language learners can also create their own conversations for their peers to respond to.
Conversations is a "passion project" that recreates one of the programs that I made with Flash 20-some years ago. I think of this as version 2.0 of Conversations.
When the computing paradigm shifted from computers to mobile devices, the technology base that Conversations 1.0 was built on couldn't keep up, and the program died.
Now that Javascript and modern browsers have caught up with the functionality that Flash used to provide, I can resurrect Conversations and offer it as a service.
I don't plan to charge for this service. It's a passion project, and the more people use it, the greater the feeling of affirmation I'll have.
